Schwarzman Scholarship Funding
This scholarship is a fully funded scholarship that will take care of both tuition and all expense of studying in Beijing. The schwarzman schloars funding covers the following;
- Tuition Fees
- Room and board
- Travel to and from Beijing at the beginning and end of the academic year
- An in-country study tour
- Required course books and supplies
- Health insurance
- A stipend of $4,000 for personal expenses
Eligibility Requirements for Schwarzman Scholarship
The schwarzman scholars selects 200 intellectual individuals from all over the world to represent the World’s greatest potential young leaders.
However, the Schwarzman Scholars does not only select candidates to study in Tsinghua University based on academic qualifications. But also their leadership, entrepreneurial skills and open mindedness to learn and respect other cultures. Below are the requirements for eligibility;
Undergraduate degree from an accredited University
Applicants must have completed or will complete their undergraduate program before August 1st 2021. There is no minimum requirement of GPA or class rank as a prerequisite to apply. However, Candidates with outstanding GPA have an edge over others. Also, there are no specific field of study required, but each applicant is expected to articulate how his/her field of study will help develop a leadership potential and learning.
Candidates must be at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age as of August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year.
Schwarzman scholarship is open to all applicants from all the continents. In that regards, no preference is given to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, national or ethnic origin, political beliefs, veteran status, or disability unrelated to job or course of study requirements.
40% of the class will come from the United States, 20% from China, and 40% from the rest of the world.
English language proficiency
Applicants must present a proof of English proficiency test since the courses are taught in English. The acceptable test options are listed below;
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT). Minimum score 600.
- Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). Minimum score 100.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Minimum score 7.
However, there are exceptions to whom will present an English Proficiency Test result. They are;
- Those who their native language is English.
- Candidates whose primary language of instruction for undergraduate study was English for at least two years of the applicant’s academic program.
- Applicants who studied in English for two or more years at a Master’s degree level or higher.
